SOS Children’s Villages initiated its work in Paraguay in the year 1970. The foundation of the national association "SOS Aldeas de Niños Paraguay" took place that same year. In one of Latin America’s poorest countries, the lives of thousands of children are marked by a difficult socioeconomic environment and persistently high levels of poverty. Against this background, SOS Children’s Villages has been working in order to improve the living situation of Paraguayan children and young people.
